Restless Little Star for solo vibraphone (2017)
Program Notes:
Restless Little Star details the anxiety of a sleepless night. The work begins slowly and softly, as more motion and drama builds. Eventually, the little flickers of motion take over, with a groovy reflection of the opening material. This energy reaches a breaking point, returning to the opening material with a sense of desperation. Finally, all of this energy recedes, and the performer is left with the echoes of this conflict in one resolute - if questioning - chord.
